Valentine Treat Holder

These cute little treat holders are quick & easy to make and would make a great valentine's gift for children to take to school. The most time consuming part is cutting out the heart on the cricut.  I just love the Doodlecharms cartridge.  It has a lot of cute die-cuts that will add character to any card or paper-crafting project.

The base for the holder is cut to 4" x 11".  It is scored at 4 3/4" and 6 1/4".  Diecut the heart at 2 1/4" centered in the top portion of the holder.  (I used the Gypsy to lay out the positioning). The candy is placed in a 3" x 5" bag which can be found in any craft store.  This bag doesn't have a zipper closure, so you'll need to be careful what kind of candy you will be inserting.  I used Hershey miniatures.

To close the holder, center the bag so that it will show through the heart diecut. Use a crop-a-dile or other strong hole punch to cut through all layers of material.  Insert brads to hold it all together.  Add a decorative strip and ribbon at the top.  Round corners, if desired, to complete the look.  I hope you have fun making these.

Thanks for stopping by!
